Las series en español conquistan Netflix
Durante décadas las series estadounidenses habían dominado los gustos del público a nivel global, por supuesto esto gracias a sus extensos contratos de distribución con televisoras del resto del mundo. Siempre hubo producciones locales, pero difícilmente hacían eco fuera de sus países de origen.
Ahora Netflix está cambiando las reglas del juego algunas propuestas como “Dark”, una serie de misterio alemana, los dramas coreanos y el sorprendente éxito de la serie en español “La Casa de Papel”, han despertado el gusto del público por nuevas propuestas en otros idiomas que no sean inglés.
Sin cortes es mejor
Gran parte del éxito de La casa de Papel (que no tuvo en su transmisión en televisión abierta) es el formato sin cortes que mantiene la atención de manera constante, lo que aumenta el interés del espectador por la historia.
La trama, también es de interés global, un grupo “antisistema” dispuestos a saltarse las reglas y enfrentándose a un enemigo impersonal. Y aunque su primera temporada (dividida en dos partes) aparentaba ser la única aventura del Profesor, Tokio, Río y el resto del equipo, la serie cuenta ya con 4 temporadas y la producción de la quinta finalmente ha comenzado, tras una serie de restricciones a raíz del covid,
Netflix quiere más
Luego de la euforia que La Casa de Papel causó, la demanda por series españolas se disparó en Netflix. En una entrevista realizada hace un tiempo a Erik Barmack, quien hasta hace algunos meses fue el responsable de la estrategia de producción internacional de Netflix, comentó el interés de la empresa por invertir en este tipo de contenido, el cual indicó en su momento, podría ser 50% producciones propias del tipo “Stranger Things”, y un 50% contenido adquirido a productoras del resto del mundo.
Acerca de cuántas series podrían venir del viejo continente, indicó que en español se esperan de 6 a 8 cada año. De manera que las series españolas podrían tener un espacio garantizado en Netflix.
